Background
Little Caesars Arena is home to the Detroit Pistons and Detroit Red Wings in downtown Detroit, Michigan. Construction for the arena began in 2015 and was completed in 2017. KLA was an integral part of installing key IT components for the arena.
The Solution(s)
KLA completed a neutral host DAS design and installation using a Corning One solution. The site had weak cellular coverage from the numerous carriers being used inside the arena, as well as capacity issues. KLA designed, installed, commissioned, and completed an RF survey/validated the DAS solution. KLA continues to maintain and upgrade the system as needed, including a recent upgrade to include 5G/C-band frequencies.
In addition to the DAS work, KLA staged, configured, and deployed network infrastructure for the arena, including the core and 267 switches. 522 IP-Tel devices were installed, as well as 60 WiFi bridges to cover their outdoor parking area for their security team.
Before the arena’s opening, KLA also installed a sound system for The Market and Kid Rock’s Made in Detroit bar. The systems were complete with JBL and Fulcrum speakers, Crown amplifiers, Denon, and Shure components.
