Request AV Staffing Support

Looking for an AV technician for an event, embedded venue support, or show-day coverage? KLA places experienced AV professionals directly into your team for single-day events, multi-day programs, recurring venue support, and conferencing environments across hospitality, sports and entertainment, healthcare, and enterprise.

Roles We Provide

The right role depends on your environment, event type, venue complexity, and operational standards. These are the profiles we most commonly place, each with a description of what they actually do.

Live Event AV Technician

General event support: setup, show coverage, and strike. Works across audio, video, and display systems under the direction of your production or technical lead. The most common role for single-day and multi-day event staffing.

Focused on audio systems in live environments: wireless mic coordination, comms, patching, and live troubleshooting during sessions. Deployed in events, venues, and corporate environments with complex audio needs.

Handles video switching, playback, and signal troubleshooting in live settings. Supports multi-display systems, video distribution, confidence monitors, and presentation signal flow during events and meetings.

Specialized support for LED wall setup, alignment, and troubleshooting. Deployed in venues, arenas, and events with large-format display systems.

Recurring onsite support for venues and facilities with consistent AV needs. Provides baseline coverage with the ability to scale for event spikes. Aligned to your venue’s systems, standards, and escalation structure.

Room readiness, live meeting support, and rapid response for conference and presentation environments. Familiar with major UC platforms and hybrid meeting room systems.

Onsite coordination and escalation point for larger or more complex events. Manages technical execution, coordinates between crew and production/venue leadership, and owns show-day problem resolution.

What We Support

Show-Day Event

Onsite AV professionals for live events, from setup through execution. Resources work inside your run-of-show, under your production or technical lead, with clear escalation paths for show-day issues. Typical support includes:

  • Setup support, system checks, and pre-show testing
  • Rehearsal coverage and technical readiness validation
  • Live troubleshooting during sessions and general sessions
  • Strike support and post-event wrap

Venue & Embedded AV

Recurring onsite coverage for venues, facilities, and organizations with consistent AV support needs. Resources align to your schedule, your standards, and your operational tempo. Typical support includes:

  • Scheduled onsite coverage aligned to your event calendar
  • Incident response during high-usage windows and peak periods
  • Event spike coverage layered on top of baseline embedded support
  • Coordination with venue ops, facilities, and IT as needed

Conferencing & Presentation

Onsite support for meeting environments, conference rooms, and presentation spaces, particularly in high-use corporate, healthcare, and venue settings. Typical support includes:

  • Room readiness checks before scheduled meetings and events
  • Live meeting support and rapid response during sessions
  • Hybrid meeting support for rooms running Teams, Zoom, or similar platforms
  • Escalation coverage for AV issues in high-visibility presentation environments

Systems Support in Live Environments

Support for installed AV systems during events and high-usage periods: sound, displays, control systems, and signal flow. Resources coordinate with venue ops, production managers, and IT teams as needed. Typical support includes:

  • Installed system monitoring and support during live operations
  • Signal flow troubleshooting (displays, switching, playback)
  • Audio system support (PA systems, wireless mics, comms, patching)
  • Coordination with facility and IT teams on system access and escalation

Audio/Visual Staff Augmentation at KLA

Staff augmentation places experienced AV professionals directly into your team and operational plan. You retain day-to-day direction, the run-of-show, the escalation path, and the standards. KLA handles fit, onboarding, and accountability.

It’s the right model when you need to:

  • Add show-day coverage for an event without handing off full production ownership
  • Staff surge windows for peak seasons, high-demand event calendars, overflow coverage
  • Maintain consistent embedded AV presence at a venue or facility on a recurring schedule
  • Evaluate a resource in your environment before committing to a long-term hire

AV staff augmentation is different from full production. If you need end-to-end event delivery (gear, design, and full show ownership), KLA also offers AV Productions services

Engagement Models

We structure AV staffing around how your events and operations actually work, not a one-size model applied to every environment.

Single-day support

One or more professionals integrated into your team for ongoing delivery and support. Works well for Day 2 coverage, post-launch stabilization, and environments that need consistent onsite presence over a defined period.

Short-term staffing for cutovers, deployment windows, urgent backlogs, and peak periods. You scale up for the window, then scale back down. No long-term commitment required.

A small, coordinated team aligned to a defined scope, such as a wireless survey and deployment, a multi-site refresh, or a cutover program.

Scheduled onsite coverage on a recurring basis, with event spikes layered in as needed. Designed for venues, arenas, hospitality properties, and facilities with ongoing AV demands.

Not sure which model fits? Tell us your timeline, environment, and what you’re trying to accomplish. We’ll recommend based on scope, not on what’s easiest to staff.

Tools & Technologies

Our AV resources are accustomed to working inside client environments: your systems, your workflows, your documentation standards.

Presentation & conferencing

Resources support major UC and conferencing platforms in room and hybrid environments. Specific platform alignment (Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Logitech, Crestron, etc) is confirmed during scoping.

Experience across display systems, video switching, and signal flow troubleshooting in live environments. LED walls, projection, confidence monitors, and multi-display configurations are common.

Familiarity with show-day operational tools and workflows: comms systems, wireless mic coordination, run-of-show alignment, and escalation protocols in high-pressure environments.

Run-of-show alignment, issues logs, post-event closeout notes, and recommendations for future events are part of how we close engagements. Documentation expectations are confirmed during onboarding.

Deliverables & Accountability

AV staffing in live environments means no second chances. A resource who isn’t ready, isn’t briefed, or doesn’t have a clear escalation path creates problems that play out in front of an audience.

Here’s what accountability looks like on a KLA engagement:

Pre-event readiness

Before doors open, resources have reviewed the run-of-show, confirmed system readiness, completed pre-show checks, and established escalation paths.

When something goes wrong during a live event, there’s a defined path for handling it, who calls who, what gets escalated, and how issues get resolved without the client having to manage the crew relationship mid-show.

After each event or engagement phase, you receive a record of what happened, issues encountered, resolutions applied, changes made, and recommendations for the next event.

For recurring engagements, we work to maintain resource continuity. Same technicians across events where possible, advance confirmation windows, and a clear backup protocol when continuity isn’t possible.

If a resource isn’t meeting expectations mid-engagement, we address it. You shouldn’t have to manage that conversation on top of managing an event.

How We Work

1
Discovery

We confirm event type, venue, schedule, run-of-show structure, technical requirements, onsite access, and what success looks like.

2
Staffing plan

We recommend roles, coverage windows, and engagement model based on your actual scope. If the scope changes, the staffing plan adjusts.

3
Onboarding & Integration

Resources are briefed on your systems, standards, communication expectations, escalation paths, and documentation requirements before they arrive onsite. Integration into your operational plan is the goal from day one.

4
Execution & Continuity

Resources operate inside your workflows under your direction. At close, we deliver post-event documentation, an issues log, and recommendations. For recurring engagements, continuity planning ensures each event starts from a stronger baseline than the last.

AV Staff Augmentation Throughout the U.S.

KLA supports onsite AV staffing across key markets, with travel mobilization for events and programs that require it.

Southeast Michigan / Detroit / Dearborn

KLA is headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan. Local resources with established relationships across the region’s venues, healthcare facilities, and corporate environments.

Regional presence supporting corporate events, venue environments, and hospitality properties across SoCal.

For programs and events outside our core markets, we mobilize resources with the lead time and logistics planning the engagement requires. We don’t overpromise on turnaround. If you share your event date and location early, we’ll give you a realistic coverage plan.

If your event or venue requires onsite presence, just tell us where and when. You’ll get a plan that’s honest about what’s achievable, not one that tells you what you want to hear.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide crew only, or crew and equipment?

KLA’s staff augmentation provides experienced AV professionals who integrate into your operational plan. Equipment is not included in a staffing engagement. If you need full production including gear, design, and show ownership, see KLA’s AV Productions service.

AV staffing gives you people who work inside your plan under your direction. Full production means the provider owns end-to-end delivery: gear, design, and show outcomes. If you’re not sure which you need, we’ll help you figure it out based on your scope, timeline, and internal capacity.

Resources are briefed on your run-of-show, technical standards, communication expectations, and escalation paths before they arrive onsite. For recurring engagements, continuity of resource assignment reinforces familiarity with your environment over time.

Yes. Live events don’t run on business hours. We align resource schedules to your event windows: nights, weekends, and early mornings depending on availability and lead time.

Escalation paths are established before the event, who calls who, what gets escalated, and how issues get resolved. Resources don’t improvise on show day. If something goes wrong, there’s a defined path for handling it without the client having to manage the crew relationship mid-show.

Can you provide embedded venue AV support on a recurring schedule?

Yes. Recurring embedded support is one of our core engagement models: scheduled onsite coverage aligned to your venue calendar, with event spike coverage layered in as needed.

A post-event issues log, a record of changes made, and recommendations for the next event. Documentation expectations are confirmed during onboarding so there’s no ambiguity about what gets delivered.

Yes. Multi-day event staffing covering rehearsals, show days, and strike is one of the most common engagement structures we support. Resources are briefed on the full run-of-show and stay consistent across the event window.

It depends on role, location, and event timeline. Share your event date and venue, and we’ll give you a realistic timeline for coverage, not an optimistic one.

Arenas, stadiums, hospitality properties, corporate campuses, healthcare facilities, and multi-day conference environments are the most common. These are high-visibility settings where operational discipline and show-day experience matter.
